OUR TEAM

DJ Perry | Founder & CEO

DJ Perry is the supervising producer, CEO, and a key screenwriter behind many of Collective Development Inc.’s (CDI) most successful films. As the co-founder and current creative force of the company, he has played a central role in shaping CDI’s distinctive all-genre brand of filmmaking with often their focus being on inspirational, family-friendly storytelling. With decades of experience in film and television, Perry oversees projects from concept to completion, guiding development, production, and distribution while frequently contributing as a writer and creative producer. His leadership and vision have helped CDI build a diverse catalog of hit films and establish a lasting presence in independent cinema. He is also credited with creating many powerful on-camera roles from protagonist to antagonist and everything in-between.

The Kennedy's | Founders

Jeff Kennedy, my fellow CDI founder, inspired me in high school by making learning enjoyable and engaging. Both Jeff and Juanita Kennedy are among the most creative people I have ever met. They believed in me and the vision for CDI when no one else did. Since 2007, Jeff has been medically retired, but his influence remains. Without his back issues, he would still be actively creating. I am deeply grateful for them. Our first four films—Knight Chills, From Venus, Heaven’s Neighbors, and Figure in the Forest—were, in many ways, our film school. On this 30th anniversary, I want to give the Kennedy’s the recognition they deserve. Without their love and support, CDI would not exist. I am committed to bringing the last three Classic CDI Films to HD and back to market. Knight Chills is currently available on Blu-ray and streaming.

Dean Teaster | Founder & COO

Considered one of CDI’s founders, Dean Teaster helped shape the business flow as COO (Chief Operating Officer). He implemented many processes still in use today, including our on-set accounting system, which integrates seamlessly with our year-end tax work. Not only is he a close friend, but he is also a pillar of CDI. His acting career continues to flourish, as he fully immerses himself in every character.

Anthony Hornus | Senior Producer

One of CDI’s earliest producers, Anthony Hornus has proven invaluable as a writer, actor, and director—a true creative warrior. As a writer/co-director, he brought us An Ordinary Killer (streaming), and in recent years, directed Man’s Best Friend, Silent Night in Algona, and the upcoming AI Jesus: The Secret of the Kingdom Chip. He also leads the military themed non-profit The Red, White and Blue Project, which collaborates closely with CDI. Together, they have produced impactful content such as Outside the Wire: The Forgotten Children of Afghanistan, Standing Post, and For the Love of Catch. As a senior producer, he is known for connecting with government officials and extras on set.

Melissa Anschutz | Senior Producer

Frequently co-starring in CDI films, Melissa Anschutz also serves as a senior producer and unit production manager. She works closely with marketing due to her role as CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) for Twin Engines Global, which manages much of the CDI library.

Shane Hagedorn | Senior Producer

A senior producer at CDI, Shane Hagedorn is known for his powerful acting and directorial work, including Ashes of Eden, Best Years Gone, and Wild Faith Christmas. He is a pillar of the company and is passionate about creating content that inspires.

Dennis Therrian | Music & Composer

Renowned as a composer and musician, Dennis Therrian has also become an exceptional sound designer. As post-production supervisor, he ensures the delivery of completed films to distribution partners. He has been with CDI since the first film, and his work is a hallmark of quality in the CDI library.

David Gries | Graphic / Web Design

David Gries has contributed both in front of and behind the camera, bringing memorable roles to life and handling web design and IT for the CDI team. He also works as a designer for Twin Engines Global marketing, bringing valuable experience to all CDI projects.

Dane DeFord | Transportation Captain

Recently joining the producer team in addition to serving as the Transportation Captain, Dane DeFord manages off-set production vehicles and on-set picture cars, boats, planes, wagons, horses, and more. He is also building his acting resume with several notable roles.

We have many new artists working to earn their place within the tribe. Some people find that the journey of telling these stories is too difficult. There is no shame in that as our people work very hard to stand out from the clutter of content in the marketplace.
